What changes the build effort
A terminal display is one part of the application. Host management, SFTP, credentials, approvals, audit records and platform packages add separate work. A browser gateway introduces session and network requirements.
Start with the tasks the product must complete. A written example is more useful for pricing than a long list of feature names.
Compare the same delivery scope
Ask each supplier to identify design, development, testing, security review, deployment, documentation and maintenance. State who owns the application code and which components carry licences.

Use actual quotations
The cost planner adds development, integration, rollout, independent review and recurring support figures supplied by you. It does not assign a price to unscoped work.
Include training, test infrastructure and compatibility work. A three year view exposes recurring costs alongside the initial build.

Is there a fixed development price?
Projects are quoted once platforms, connections and workflows are known. The planner uses your own figures.
Can open source components reduce the build?
They can reduce implementation work. Integration, licences, security controls, packaging and maintenance still require planning.
