Measurement operating system
Analytics becomes useful when the business can explain what a conversion means, how it is collected, which source information survives the journey and how the digital event connects with a real enquiry, booking or sale.
A pageview, button click, submitted form, qualified call and sale are different events. Name the stages the business actually uses so analytics can report them without presenting early interactions as completed commercial outcomes.
Run controlled journeys through campaigns, landing pages, forms, calls or bookings and verify the event in each relevant system. A tag firing in the browser does not prove that staff received the lead or that the downstream record retained source information.
Advertising platforms, analytics tools and customer systems use different identities, windows and attribution rules. Reporting should explain those differences, remove obvious duplicates and keep unknown sources visible rather than forcing every outcome into a channel.
Connect spend, qualified demand, customer outcomes and data limitations to the next action. The objective is not a larger dashboard. It is a measurement system that tells management what can be known and which missing evidence would change an allocation decision.
