Start with the decision the report must support
A sales manager needs to see enquiries awaiting action. A warehouse manager needs stock and open orders. Finance needs receipts, liabilities and cash commitments. We specify those decisions before selecting charts.
For every measure, agree the definition, time zone, source, refresh frequency and responsible person. Booked revenue, issued invoices and cash received describe different events.
Make missing and delayed data visible
Connections can use approved APIs, databases or scheduled files. The dashboard shows when a source last updated, the period covered and any records awaiting review. An unavailable source needs an explicit state.
We map stable identifiers across the systems and reconcile totals before combining them. Duplicate customers, reversed payments and cancelled orders are included in the tests.
Let the reader inspect the calculation
Filters should retain their meaning between screens and exports. A total opens the contributing records, with the same period, currency and status filters. Restricted users see only authorized data.

Validate against an agreed reporting period
We reconcile a completed period with the source exports, then test changes, missing files and delayed updates. Budgets and forecasts display their assumptions alongside actual records.
The deliverable includes definitions, source mappings, access rules and refresh monitoring. Marketing attribution remains available through our separate analytics service.
