Keep the delivery connected to the original order
Picking, packing and dispatch need stable order and item references. A partial shipment records what left, what remains and which delivery carries each item. Substitutions and damaged stock follow approval rules.
We map warehouses, vehicles, driver assignments, delivery windows and customer instructions. Barcode scans confirm a specific item or container at the required stage.
Build for the connection the driver actually has
A driver may lose connectivity during a delivery. The application needs a local queue, visible synchronization state and duplicate protection when the connection returns. Proof of delivery retains the recorded time and its later upload time.
Photos, signatures and location information require a defined purpose and access policy. GPS integration depends on the installed device, provider API and update frequency. Tracking hardware is tested in the operating environment.
Give failed deliveries a clear next action
An unavailable recipient, damaged parcel or vehicle fault needs a reason, an owner and a revised plan. The customer message should reflect the current status. Failed delivery records must not silently close an order.
The financial connection may include delivery charges, driver expenses, returned goods and customer credits. Each follows the approved accounting treatment.
Test the route and the warehouse together
Acceptance tests include a split order, a vehicle reassignment, a duplicate scan, two offline updates and a returned delivery. Reconcile quantities at dispatch and on return.
Provide the number of warehouses and vehicles, device models, existing systems and an example delivery record. Route optimization, live traffic and sensor monitoring are separately defined integrations.
Project questions
Can the software track vehicles live?
Yes, through a supported GPS source with authorized access. The update interval, accuracy and outage behavior depend on the hardware and provider.
Can drivers work offline?
Offline operation can be built with a durable queue and reconciliation rules. It requires device testing and explicit handling of conflicting changes.
