A POS quote should separate the software, counter equipment, setup, training, support and payment fees. Put every quote in the same currency and compare the cost over three years.
What belongs in your POS quote
Start with the number of trading locations and registers that will operate at the same time. Count receipt printers, scanners, cash drawers and the devices used for stock receiving. A second checkout can change both the hardware bill and the software licence.
Ask for the exact device models, licence terms, installation scope, data import allowance and support hours. Record whether prices include VAT. A quote described as a complete POS system needs an itemised equipment and service list.

PopUpPOS lists an Android software option at TT$999 with TT$450 per year for maintenance and support. Its hardware is priced separately. SystemAid lists a variety store software licence at TT$7,000, including installation, setup, training and three months of support. An additional register is listed at TT$2,500.

What affects the cost of a custom POS
Custom development depends on the trading workflow: counter sales, customer credit, invoicing, multiple currencies, stock locations and payment connections. The largest uncertainties often sit in migration, hardware compatibility and changes to existing business rules.

Does a POS software price include card processing?
Check the quote. Software licensing, payment processing and bank settlement are separate cost categories. Ask the merchant provider to confirm its fees and supported integration.
Can I use equipment I already own?
Record the model and connection type for every device. Test printing, scanning and drawer opening on the proposed software before treating the equipment as compatible.
