A remote tour, attractive price or polished contract cannot by itself establish ownership or agency authority. Keep the rental decision tied to checks you can document.
Review the deposit request
Paste the landlord or agent’s message into the checker. Include the requested payment method and any pressure to pay before a viewing. Remove identification numbers and sensitive application documents.

Preserve the advert URL, screenshots and conversation. Report the listing through the platform and the relevant local reporting channel. Contact the legitimate owner or agency using independently obtained details.
